MEET THE TEAM
At Ground Floor Home Inspection we truly believe in family. Our inspection reports are prepared with the safety of you and your family first and foremost. We also take very seriously your investment, and making sure we add value to your investment by providing you a detailed, quality home inspection report. Our inspectors believe in raising the standards of the industry, to disrupt the status quo. This is done by being part of a bigger team that protects, educates and is driven to excellence, so as to offer high quality home inspections.
We also take certification and education very seriously. Our inspectors must first be trained and earn certification with American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT). In addition, they must pass the National Home Inspector Examination and complete annual continuing education (primarily through ASHI - American Society of Home Inspectors). None of these are requirements in the state of Colorado; however, they are requirements of Ground Floor Home Inspection.
Chris Kjeldsen is President and Owner of Ground Floor Home Inspection. The company serves Colorado Springs, Denver, Pueblo, Teller County and surrounding areas.
Chris feels truly honored also be one of the trainers at American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT). Chris started his home inspection career being trained as a student at an AHIT class just like the many students he has helped succeed. It was at the classroom training where he found a true passion to succeed as a home inspector. He has since found this passion in helping other succeed as well.
Chris lives in the mountains of Colorado with his wife, dog, three cats, two goats and six chickens. He has two beautiful grown children. Chris spent many years in accounting management and operating a successful accounting consulting company. Meet Walter Kruger! You may know him as Wally, he is named after his grandfather. Walter was born and raised in Buffalo N.Y. where his mom lives in the same home he grew up in. Walter does not have any siblings and therefore is an only child. He loves the water, especially Lake Erie and the beautiful sunsets.
Wally moved friends to the Air Force Academy in 1995, vowing to return and live in Colorado Springs. In 1996 he did just that and lived for a short time as a civilian on the U.S.A.F.A. - who does that? Falling in love with the mountains and blue skies he made residence here in 1996 and enjoys the sunrise and sunsets shown on Pikes Peak.
Wally met his love and bride of 20 years, Teri, at Village Seven Presbyterian Church in 1999, they married in 2000. They have 2 grown children, Jacob and Hannah. Their youngest, Rebecca, attends Air Academy High School. Their grandson, Raymond will be 2 this year. Outside of work Wally enjoys training in karate. He has been a member and instructor at Universal Kempo Karate Schools Association since 2003.
Wally is certified in Residential Heating & Air Conditioning through Pikes Peak Community College. He has enjoyed being a commercial kitchen appliance repairman, nursing home maintenance director and in 2016 he became a professional home inspector. The following year he joined Ground Floor Home Inspection. (You may recognize Hannah & Rebecca from delivering the infamous Realtor Survival Kits to Open Houses in Colorado Springs/Denver or talking to Hannah when scheduling a home inspection!) While most home inspectors last 3 years or less in the Real Estate industry, he can’t imagine doing anything else!
Kitty Rhea is a Professional Home Inspector with Ground Floor Home Inspection.
Kitty was born in Portland, Oregon, but has lived in Colorado since she was seven years old (so she is *almost* a native). She is the proud daughter of Chris and Treese Kjeldsen and strives to fill her father's inspection shoes as he dedicates the majority of his time to traveling the country training amazing future home inspectors. She has an older brother who has done spectacular work in the theatre/film industry and she cannot wait to see what he accomplishes next.
Kitty graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, where she spent a semester studying in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. She married the love of her life shortly after graduating and now they are living in Colorado Springs with their adorable cat and two crazy guinea pigs. Kitty has worked at the Colorado Renaissance Festival over the summers since 2011. She has played several different roles there, but is most often recognized as the evil knight's joust cheerleader who shouts, "Cheat to Win!" and drinks wine out of a skull.
Kitty is a black belt in Universal Kempo Karate and enjoys helping those around her learn how to better protect themselves. She is incredibly proud to be a female home inspector (also referred to as a Unicorn), and has a passion for inspiring other females to succeed in the trades. Chauncey LaBrie is a Professional Home Inspector with Ground Floor Home Inspection, LLC.
He was born and raised in Southern California, where he experienced a pretty well-rounded life in the beautiful golden state. Growing up, he enjoyed camping, fishing, baseball, basketball, and hanging out with friends. What most people don’t know is that Chauncey also had a job as child. He has been a member of the screen actors guild since he was young and has appeared in several commercials throughout his childhood. He’s also worked as an electrician before deciding to become a real estate appraiser in 2005, where he received his license in California.
Chauncey moved to beautiful Colorado Springs in 2013, where he met his lovely wife, Jen, in a biblical counseling class at Calvary Worship Center, where he was on staff. They fell in love and were married in 2014. Chauncey was on staff as the prison ministry and local outreach pastor at CWC for six years. In 2016 Chauncey and Jen were moved to start a community nonprofit organization working with disadvantaged youth in southeast Colorado Springs.
When Chauncey is not inspecting homes, he’s dedicating his time to being the positive influence he wishes he had as a youth. He is an advocate for Southeast Colorado Springs, a voice for the unheard, and a community parent to disadvantaged youth. He uses his nonprofit “WeighOut Ministries’’ to empower youth in the Southeast community by emphasizing personal responsibility – encouraging young individuals to “weigh out” options and consequences before making decisions that will impact the rest of their lives and the community.
